Sukhi Colouring
The colouring book built into Sukhi Play: what it does, where drawings are kept, and how to use it on any device.
On this page
Sukhi Colouring is the colouring book that comes with Sukhi Play. It is the first app in the playground: little apps we make ourselves for Sukhi Play, rather than websites you allow. More are on the way.
Where to find it
- In Sukhi Play it is the Colouring tile, switched on from the start. It is part of the download, so it works with no internet at all.
- On any other device open sukhiplay.com/playground/colouring in a browser. Nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.
What your child can do
- Pick a picture with the pictures button: forty to choose from, or leave it and draw on a blank page.
- Draw with the pencil, the crayon or the rainbow, in three widths.
- Tap to fill a shape inside the picture. Tapping the paper around it colours the whole page instead.
- Mirror drawing, the butterfly, copies everything onto the other side.
- Rub out with the eraser under the colours.
- Back and Forward undo and redo. Start again clears the page, and asks first.
Saving their pictures
Press Keep it and the picture goes into My pictures. Open one from there and it comes back exactly as it was left, ready to carry on colouring. The download button under each saves a copy as an image file, and the bin removes it, after asking.
Pictures are kept on that device only. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account for them to be tied to. My pictures holds the sixty most recent; the oldest make way for new ones. Clearing the browser’s data for the site, or using a private window, clears them too.
Settings
The cog holds the language, English or 한국어, and the sound on or off. It sits at the end of the tools, out of the way of the ones a child uses most.
On a phone or tablet
It works the same on a small screen, with the tools along the top and the colours along the bottom.
To keep it on the home screen, press Add to home screen in the app: the phone with an arrow in it, next to the cog. It shows the steps for the device you are on, and in Chrome or Edge it has an Install button that does it in one tap. The steps, in case you would rather do it yourself:
- iPhone and iPad: open it in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Android: open it in Chrome, open the menu, then Add to Home screen.
- A computer: in Chrome or Edge, click the install icon at the end of the address bar.
It then opens full screen like any other app, and keeps working without internet once it has been opened once.
